Description of Training:
This workshop will address ways to navigate diversity during treatment. The Cultural Formulation questions in the DSM-V -TR will be examined to help facilitate a shared understanding between client and therapist. The workshop will focus on how to understand the change process by showing how to utilize the Stages of Change model within diversity issues. This presentation will be a practical multidisciplinary lecture and include demonstrations with audience exercises. Meets Cultural Competency CE requirement.

Learning Objectives:
- Learn the cultural formulation questions to enhance understanding of client and their context.
- Increase understanding on how cultural formulation interviewing enhances diversity orientation to ask not just self oriented but other oriented questions.
- Examine how to prepare people for cultural formulation questions.
- Examine Stages of Change and how to help understand issues surrounding diversity.
