SUMMARY:Webinar: Getting a Handle on ADHD (4 CE’s)
DESCRIPTION:Description of Training: \nADD/ ADHD in adults can be a confusing and overwhelming experience because of the attention variability pattern of hyper focusing\, under focusing and emotional/behavioral dysregulation. In this workshop we will explore an overview of Adult ADHD through the lens of interpersonal neurobiology. We will review the changes in the DSM-5 and focus on assessment and delineating co-occurring diagnoses. Outcome measures and surveys will be examined to increase effectiveness in diagnosis clarity and treatment planning. \nAn integrative CBT model of core behavioral/emotional and cognitive skills will be explored within a bio/psycho/social context to help regulate emotions/attention and behavior.  Reflection of how ones learning style(s) affects attention and concentration will explored in a strength based perspective.  This workshop can be beneficial for those who work with children and teens who have an ADHD diagnosis. Suggestions on how to discuss and suggest “reasonable accommodations” for ADHD will be reviewed. \nThis training will be conducted in a webinar format. You will receive an email prior to the webinar with instructions on how to sign in to the webinar. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nDelineate what ADHD has changed in the DSM-5 and how it can mask other diagnoses and also be co-occuring.\nExamine selected outcomes measures and report forms to enhance clarity of diagnosis.\nBetter understand an Interpersonal Neurobiology perspective on Adult ADHD.\nExplore how technology and environment impacts ADHD.\nDelineate behavioral/cognitive and emotional skills to better regulate ADHD.\nIncreased understanding helping clients find their own strengths through examining multiple intelligences and how our senses affect learning.\nLearn tips on how to discuss and suggest reasonable accommodations.
