DESCRIPTION:Description of Training: \nThis workshop will address ways to navigate diversity during treatment. The Cultural Formulation questions in the DSM-V -TR will be examined to help facilitate a shared understanding between client and therapist.  The workshop will focus on how to understand the change process by showing how to utilize the Stages of Change model within diversity issues.  This presentation will be a practical multidisciplinary lecture and include demonstrations with audience exercises. Meets Cultural Competency CE requirement. \nThis training will be conducted in a webinar format. You will receive an email prior to the webinar with instructions on how to sign in to the webinar. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nLearn the cultural formulation questions to enhance understanding of client and their context.\nIncrease understanding on how cultural formulation interviewing enhances diversity orientation to ask not just self oriented but other oriented questions.\nExamine how to prepare people for cultural formulation questions.\nExamine Stages of Change and how to help understand issues surrounding diversity.

DESCRIPTION:Description of Training:\n\nSchema Therapy is an evidence based cognitive/behavioral and psychodynamic approach of CBT developed by Jeff Young PhD in the 1990’s. Many clients are affected by their positive and negative schemas and this workshop will offer how to identify and shift maladaptive schemas and support healthy schemas. We will focus on clinical challenges and how to work through the stuck period that often occurs during schema shifting.
