SUMMARY:Webinar: Reclaiming Attention\, Emotional Regulation and Interpersonal Connections in a Virtual Age (4 CE’s)
DESCRIPTION:Description of Training: \nMany of our clients have attention\, emotional regulation\, and interpersonal difficulties aggravated in part by one’s own dysfunctional daily management of technology. Addressing the need to manage one’s technology use has a similar refusal of the call as dealing with addiction. Our clients often bulk at the idea of change.  We need to address this more directly in our therapy to get a holistic picture of our clients. The workshop will address how technology (iPhone\, computers\, AI\, etc.) can be a factor in our client’s severity and functionality of their presenting problems.  We will examine practical assessment questions on usage and functionality\, motivational interviewing methods and intervention strategies to help us reclaim our attention\, emotional centeredness and interconnectedness. Meets Cultural Competency CE requirement. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nUnderstanding the Cultural Gap Model applied to group therapy.\nExplore how technology can positively and negatively impact us.\nExamine assessment questions on iPhone or computer use.\nIdentify and delineate specific strategies to use in therapy to manage technology.\n\nReferences: \nCytowic\, R.
