DESCRIPTION:Description of Training: \nThe client’s therapeutic process in addiction and mental health problems is a mythic journey one full of struggles\, challenges and rewards.  This workshop will outline and demonstrate how to flexibly integrate the Hero’s Journey of Joseph Campbell with the Stages of Change and Interpersonal Neurobiology in counseling.  This workshop is a strength based engaging approach that weaves ancient and modern wisdom into therapy. It is a refreshing structured approach that allows clients to discover how to navigate difficulties. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nDelineate the elements in the Hero’s Journey\nExplore the linkage between the Hero’s Journey and Stages of Change\nApply  the stages of the Hero’s Journey to the therapeutic process\nUse therapeutic metaphors from mythology and popular culture to enhance change\nUnderstand the Interpersonal Neurobiology of attachment\, story telling\, and emotional regulation
